Description: NZY Blood gDNA Isolation kit provides a fast and easy small-scale method for purification of pure genomic DNA from whole blood, serum, plasma or body fluids. The simple procedure combines the efficiency of lysis buffer (containing Proteinase K) with the selective binding properties of a silica-based column. This method requires no phenol or chloroform extraction. After preparing the lysate, DNA is selectively absorbed in the NZYSpin Blood Column and other contaminants, such as proteins and salts, are removed during the subsequent washing steps. The highly pure genomic DNA is eluted in an alkaline elution buffer and it is ready to use in applications like sequencing, PCR, multiplex-PCR, genotyping and a wide range of other enzymatic manipulations.

The NZY Blood gDNA Isolation kit is optimized to isolate up to 6 µg of DNA with an A_260/280 ratio between 1.7 and 1.9 from up to 200 µl of whole blood or 5×10⁶ leukocyte cells. Genomic DNA can be isolated successfully from blood samples treated with EDTA, citrate or heparin.
