Bacteriostatic antibiotic with activity against gram positive and gram negative bacteria. Tetracycline reversibly binds to the 30S ribosome and inhibits binding of aminoacyl-t-RNA to the acceptor site on the 70S ribosome.

Slightly soluble in water.

Soluble in EtOH.

Store dry at 0-5 °C.

Protect from light.
